This year marks our 100th year bringing the best new fiction forward. As part of our Centennial, we're launching a new campaign that challenges the era of the infinite scroll and abbreviated attention span.
The prevailing belief is that young people's brains are turning to mush. That fiction is finished. That nobody reads anymore. We disagree.
Our campaign serves as a counter-narrative grounded in reality: Writers are still writing great books and a remarkable number of us are still reading them. In fact, readers are buying more books than at any point in history. We believe a reading renaissance is underway, and at Book of the Month, we are actively cultivating it.
We invite you to read our manifesto on our dedicated page on our site. You might also see us spreading the word across social media, and if you live in New York, on billboards across the city.
For the last 100 years, we've been shaping a more curious and thoughtful culture. Somewhere in the long run of months that made up a century, many of you have joined in. For that we're grateful. And, to all of you who are interested in joining the reading renaissance, welcome.
Here's to the next 100 years of nobody reading anymore.
