The Celebrity Traitors hits our screens next week, and this autumn I'm planning to channel Claudia Winkleman with chunky woollen jumpers, long tweed coats and the odd touch of tartan - and there's no better place to look than our Great British Brands.

I've had a lot of fun compiling the complete 'Claudia look', so here goes... I'm cherry picking this full length, olive and chocolate brown tweed coat from Really Wild or herringbone tweed cape with a fur collar from Westley Richards. Then I'd go for a Fairisle moss green jumper from Cordings or this chunky Fairfax & Favor one in 'fog', paired with an (on-trend) long Black Watch kilt from House of Bruar or (for a bit more swagger) these green cord gaucho trousers from Troy London. For the finishing touches, it would brown tweed and leather Brogue boots from Cheaney and a cream cashmere ribbed hood from Lock & Co (that I am coveting wildly).

A new season also signals a shift in how we spend our weekends and time away from our screens - with crisp walks, leaf peeping (so American)...and perhaps some autumn sport in the shape of simulated game shooting.

E. J. Churchill has three shooting grounds (in Buckinghamshire, North Yorkshire and Aberdeenshire) offering private lessons and charity days alongside its Young Guns Academy (tuition for next-gen enthusiasts in clays and with air rifles, with a day in October half term and two in the Christmas holidays), Ladies Mornings (throughout the Autumn) and competitions. Purdey at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School offers simulated game days from February to October at some of Britain's finest stately homes, including Highclere Castle and the Elizabethan Englefield Estate. 

At Holland & Holland's shooting grounds just outside London, Christmas and shooting collide with tuition intermixed with bacon sarnies for breakfast, mince pies for elevenses and then - after the lessons wrap - a full Christmas lunch in the shooting lodge in the afternoon. 

If rugby is more your speed, the Autumn internationals - this year known as the Quilter Nations Series - kick off at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, beginning with England v Australia on 1 November. After Christmas, rugby fans can look forward to the Guinness Men's Six Nations, launching with England v Wales on 7 February, and for the Guinness Women's Six Nations, you'll have to wait until Spring.
