Decide Your Tea Base
Once you’ve decided whether to use black or green tea for the base, you can choose between dozens of Fortnum’s varieties sourced from the world’s finest tea gardens. Black leaf tea is fully oxidised and will produce a more robust flavour and traditional cup, whereas green leaves are bursting with antioxidants and will mean a lighter and grassier taste.

Find Your Flavour
Floral or fresh? That is the question. Floral flavour notes such as rose, hibiscus and jasmine are delicate, sweet and will produce a more fragrant cup, or fresh flavour notes such as mint, ginger and citrus will mean a fruity, spicy or herbal flavour depending on your chosen combination.

Choose Your Strength
Now it’s time to choose the strength, which is what determines the overall flavour and aroma of your tea. A ‘Subtle’ strength is ideal for those who prefer a less dominant flavour, ‘Intense’ will mean a much more powerful flavour and ‘Balanced’ is somewhere between the two.

Add Your Petals
At this stage in the process we add petals for a burst of colour and to help give your tea additional depth. Choose between vibrant marigolds and soft blue, light pink or fresh white cornflower petals, which will then be added in two separate layers to ensure they don’t overpower the tea.

Pick A Name
Whether it’s for yourself or a gift for someone else, picking a name for your one-of-a-kind cuppa is almost as fun as the blending experience itself. You can use up to 16 characters and whatever name you choose will be printed on the label of your tea caddy and cherished forever.
