The travel headlines right now are a lot. Fuel prices are up. Capacity is getting cut. Spirit went bust. TSA lines are lengthening, just like the daylight hours as we head into summer. And a general sense of economic uncertainty has a lot of people rethinking what they're spending, travel included. Some people are scaling back to domestic trips. Some are skipping trips altogether. If travel isn't your top priority right now, that makes sense.

But if it is still on your brain-if you're someone who finds that a trip on the horizon is exactly what keeps you going, because same-we want to make sure you're looking in the right places. After all, cheap flights don't wait for the news cycle to calm down.

So we did what we do best. We dug into every deal that we sent between April 2025 and April 2026 and ranked the destinations where flight deals show up most in Europe, the US, and globally. 

Think of these lists less as guaranteed cheap flights and more as where you should be looking for great deals. The best of the best come and go, and these are the places where you're most likely to find them.

Europe

The usual suspects on shuffle. Plus fresh faces.

Italy has been having a moment. Milan, Rome, Venice, and Palermo all cracked the top ten, with increased airline competition and new nonstop routes from US airports pushing deals down across the board ($490-$530 on average over the past year). 

Pulling ahead of Paris, our stalwart #1, Barcelona stole the top spot this year, averaging $468 roundtrip with Going deals (about 49% off the normal price). 

London and Amsterdam, long-time top tens, both slipped due to strong demand and less competition, resulting in higher fares. In addition to new-to-the-list Venice and Palermo, this made room for other new blood: Athens and Helsinki. Athens' rise is good news whether you want to visit the Greek capital or make literal use of the Greek Islands Trick. The new nonstop from JFK to ATH sparked a competitive domino effect, bringing prices way down on nonstop and one-stop routes.  

As for Helsinki, a slew of factors have driven prices down over the past year. It's an Icelandair destination, meaning the low-cost carrier keeps prices relatively accessible. Finnair also increased intra-Europe routes across the continent, plus converted seasonal routes into permanent year-round ones. And, major hubs, such as CDG, LHR, and FCO, reintroduced Lapland to their rosters. The result? A perfect storm for great fares into the Finnish capital.

US

The best deals are at your doorstep

Over the past year, the top-ranking US destinations have read like the "greatest hits of American travel": Orlando, Boston, Denver, Las Vegas. We've sent deals as low as $38 to Orlando and Las Vegas, and the average Going deal across the top ten didn't even break $160 roundtrip.

If economic uncertainty has you thinking smaller this year, like a long weekend instead of a big international trip, the domestic market is a great place to put that energy. Take one glance at the list, and you'll see that Florida is dominating the charts, with Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers coming it at #1, #6, and #7, respectively. 

But look closer, and you'll see the full top ten spans coasts, climates, and vibes. Whether you're looking for desert heat on the Vegas Strip or in nearby national parks, Pacific Northwest cool around Seattle, Southern romance along the cobbled streets of Charleston, or a mean bowl of pasta on Federal Hill in Providence, the price of entry for these cities is relatively low, even now, when fares are feeling sky-high.

International

Epic adventures just across the border

If you've been dreaming of international travel but feeling priced out, our advice is to start by looking closer to home. Airlines have been aggressively investing in shorter-haul international routes, like to Canada, the Caribbean, and Central America. And that competition is pushing deals to some of the lowest levels we've seen. 

Calgary, Vancouver, and Bogotá all return to the list this year. Costa Rica dominates, with both San José and Liberia cracking the top five (SJO claims the #1 spot). Montego Bay, Punta Cana, and Guatemala City round out a list that skews heavily toward warm weather and short flights, with average Going deals across those destinations running well under $350.

But then this year's list gets interesting: Auckland and Tokyo both snuck into the top ten. Not because they're cheap in the traditional sense (average Going deals to both cities run $700-$800), but because the discounts off normal prices have been steep, and deals have frequently appeared across a wide range of US departure cities. If you've been sitting and patiently waiting for the right time to spring for Japan or New Zealand, this is your sign.

Basically, "international travel" doesn't have to mean a 10-hour flight and a week of PTO. A long weekend in Jamaica, a few days in Canada, a quick escape to Costa Rica: Going deals over the past year indicate that these trips are more accessible now than they've been in years. And for those with bigger ambitions, Tokyo and Auckland are solid bets now, as well.
