Our Core Range Selvedge (OG) is where it all began for us.
It's the fabric that built Hiut.
A 14.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, woven slowly on old shuttle looms in Okayama, the heartland of denim.
These looms are half the width of modern ones, and twice the work to run.
But that's where the beauty lies.
Every metre of denim is watched over by a craftsman.
There's no automatic setting.
No magic button.
Just skill.
Patience.
Human hands guiding old machines to make something remarkable.
That's why selvedge denim is special.
You'll see the signature red and white edge when you turn up the hem.
A mark of how it's made.
You'll feel the difference too. At first, it's stiff. Reluctant even.
But over time, it will mould to you. Fade where you bend. Crease where you move.
Becoming more yours with every wear.

Our selvedge comes from the Kuroki Mill in Okayama, Japan - a family-run mill that still believes in doing things the old way, the best way.
