It began in 2014 as a weekly note from Aberteifi. A place to gather what we were learning, noticing, questioning and returning to.
A book. A journey. A piece of work. A better way to make something. An idea from someone who had chosen the less obvious path.
From the beginning, Scrapbook has been shaped by a simple idea: stay curious.
Not curiosity as distraction, but as a way of paying attention. To craft. To travel. To art. To technology. To the habits and decisions that shape a life.
Scrapbook has always been drawn to people who think for themselves. Makers, writers, founders, artists and observers who do things a little differently, not to stand apart, but to make the work better.
That mindset has shaped Hiut, too.
We make Hiuts in a small town in West Wales, with paper patterns, skilled hands, and a belief that how something is made still matters.
Scrapbook has been a way to keep that same spirit open to the wider world. Five hundred editions later, it remains a weekly exercise in looking outward.
Thank you for reading it, forwarding it, and making room for it in your week.
Here's to curiosity, useful ideas, and the independent minds that keep things moving.
