THE SUMMER SALE
Autumn, bought early
|
|
The weather has not turned yet, and that is rather the point. A boot chosen in August is chosen calmly, and in your own size. The same boot in late October is chosen in a hurry, out of whatever happens to be left. Two of ours are worth thinking about now.

I
The Brecon Chelsea
For the first cold morning, and every one after it.
Polished calf leather with a fine elastic gusset and a rear pull-loop, cut close to the ankle so it sits under a trouser without bulk. Fully leather lined, with a removable leather insole and a rubber sole for wet pavements. It has been the best selling boot of the summer sale, which is an odd thing for a boot to be in July. £119.

II
The Castle Chukka
The easier one, for weekends.
A two eyelet chukka in smooth calf leather with a contrast stitch, stripped back to the essentials. Fully leather lined, removable cushioned insole, rubber sole. Less formal than the Brecon, and the better answer if your autumn is mostly denim. £109.

NEW THIS SEASON
And two that are simply new
|
|
Not everything here came out of the sale. The Byrne and the Swale arrived this summer and sit at their introductory prices, which is just what they cost. Both are worth a look while you are deciding.
