The New Lines | |||

We rarely introduce four lines at once. This summer we have: a saddle loafer, a Chelsea in three leathers, a sneaker and a chukka, eight new pairs between them in pull-up calf, rich full grain and soft calf suede, each lined in natural calf leather and set on the sole its work demands. All of them have gone straight into the Summer Sale, at launch prices less than half of what they will be. Those prices hold until 2 August. Then every pair moves to full price.

The Portus Loafer
The shoe for the hottest part of the year: sockless at a terrace lunch, packed flat for the week away. The saddle strap and storm welt give the slip-on real presence, in pull-up calf that deepens in the sun or a soft brown suede. Forty pairs of each arrived, and July is not a month to deliberate.

The Byrne Chelsea
The new Chelsea, and the reason this email exists. One boot in three leathers: polished pull-up calf for town, pebbled full grain for texture, soft calf suede for off duty, all lined in natural calf on a featherweight Vibram sole. It arrives at £129. From 3 August it is £320.

The Gorge Sneaker
For the days that ask nothing formal of you. Smooth calf and calf suede in a clean six-eyelet profile, leather lined with a removable leather insole, on an XL EXTRALIGHT sole that barely registers underfoot. A sneaker finished like a proper shoe, at a launch price that ends with the sale.

The Swale Chukka
Buying a boot in July looks premature, right up until the first cool evening of late August. Three eyelets and clean lines, in pull-up calf or a soft calf suede that suits early-autumn light, lined in natural calf and light underfoot on a Vibram sole. At £125 now and £260 from 3 August, buying early is simply buying well.
