Curator's Notes: OK, no wonder this fermented natural Brazil is so delicious - Little City's owner, Joel, has a master's degree in the agriculture of coffee processing! So he definitely knows a good one when he tastes it. This exclusive microlot comes from their direct partnership with rockstar producer Deyvid Oliveira Leandro, who is not only a Brazilian Cup of Excellence winner, but he also recently won first place in the Best of Cerrado coffee competition and pulled in a record-breaking $101 per pound in the subsequent auction! Don't worry, this coffee is a much more affordable masterpiece. This cup is bright like pineapple juice, honey-sweet, and super sparkly, with an effervescence that reminds me of raspberry pop rocks. Nice red wine acidity throughout, super balanced, and with an easy, smooth, honey-drenched finish. I personally love coffees with pineapple notes and I just can't put this one down.
I met the team behind Little City at this year's specialty coffee expo, and as soon as I tried their coffees, I told them, "we have to get you on Bean Box!". This very special Brazil Fazenda Esperança is a fantastic example of what Little City does best, and I'd encourage any fan of Brazilian coffee to snap it up before it's gone.
