Curator's Notes: Spice up your cup! We just passed the autumnal equinox, I've officially let go of summertime and I'm leaning hard into the cozy season. As always, this coffee could NOT have come at a better time. I was so excited when our friends at Broadcast Coffee told me that this blend was available again - we work together to formulate an updated version every year, and I couldn't wait to taste what they had in store for me. This year's medium roast tastes like rich, melted chocolate, with a sugary spice like Biscoff cookies and a bright sprinkle of orange zest. Body like frothed milk, and a nice finish of brown sugar and cinnamon, like the crumb top of a coffee cake. I was definitely not expecting this to be a blend of a honey-processed Mexican coffee with a washed Kenyan, but the two complement each other so well. I'm drinking it right now and, as it cools, I'm even getting a little hint of black currant - so good. The rich, spicy flavors remind me of the best parts of the season: the changing leaves, Halloween costumes, taking our favorite sweaters out of storage. Pair this coffee with an apple cider donut and a puffy vest, and presto: you've got autumn in a mug. I say, save the pumpkin spice for your pie.
