Creating Safer Lineups
in South Africa
|
Last weekend in Cape Town, Patagonia supported the
first-ever Big Wave Surf Responder Course & Ocean
Safety Summit in Africa, bringing together surfers,
lifeguards, and ocean professionals committed to
looking out for one another in the water.
Beyond vital skill building, the event created space for
connection-strengthening South Africa's ocean
community around a shared goal of safer lineups and
stronger response when it matters most.
All proceeds from the weekend will support
Sentinel
Ocean Alliance and
Protect the West Coast-two
organisations doing important work for South Africa's
oceans and coastal communities. Huge thanks to
everyone who showed up ready to learn, share, and
give back to the ocean and the community.
