I'm not an expert on mothering, but I did have a really great example to follow (thanks, Mom!).
For me, being a mother is a lot like ultrarunning (of course I relate it to running). There are incredible highs and really tough lows. Some days feel smooth, others are pure grit. There are tears and smiles and let's be honest, you always need snacks... and then more snacks.
But just like a runner's high, there's nothing quite like the pride of watching your child grow into a kind, responsible human. It's a long road that's messy, exhausting, but deeply rewarding. And it's absolutely worth every step.
So whether you're a mom yourself, or someone lucky enough to be loved by one, take a moment to recognize the strength, sacrifice, and love it takes to be called "Mom."

P.S. We did not force our daughter to run in the photo above. She actually loves to run... She's just upset that she lost. We may be a little competitive.
