I see a lot of folks who have never felt comfortable going to the gym on their own- that's one of the reasons they come see me!
But for the most part people are focused on themselves at the gym- however that doesn't prevent the feeling of uncertainty!
One of the reasons we might feel a little intimidated at the gym is because we aren't super confident in...
- What we're doing
- Where to do it
- How to do it
If the gym itself is new to us we might need to wander around looking like we don't know what to do.
Or if we're trying new exercises we might perform them a bit awkwardly.
Etc.
Before we continue just know- I look foolish at the gym all the time!
Here's Video Proof - People saw me do this and I posted it on IG
But anyways, let's talk about Confidence and how to Get It when it comes to the gym.
Confidence comes from...
- Knowledge
- Experience
- Delusion
(We don't want to work on creating delusion though!)
The more Knowledge you have when it comes to...
- The lay out of the gym
- How to use the equipment
- What you're supposed to be doing
The more comfortable you'll feel.
The more Experience you have when it comes to...
- Performing exercises
- Finding gym equipment
- Simply walking around
The more comfortable you'll feel.
BUT!
How do we create Knowledge and Experience before we get to the gym?
It might be tough but we can do it.
You know where you're going to be working out.
That gym has a website and a social media. Check it out to see what type of equipment they have and to get an idea on where stuff is.
Once you know what's available you can create a workout routine so that you know what you're supposed to be doing.
Once you have your routine you can YouTube how to do those exercises or how to use those machines.
And if you want to go the extra mile you can perform some exercises at home!
This will help big time with feeling like you know what you're doing at the gym.
But Confidence also comes from Comfortability.
When we're comfortable we can simply be ourselves.
Something that helps with this is music! So pop some headphones on and jam out to your favorite songs!
Before you know it any Gymtimidation will fade away and your Rizz will be Plus 1000 Aura! (I learn new vocab from my clients sometimes- I'm pretty sure that means "You will feel and appear confident")
