If you don't know- I'm an In Person personal trainer.
I see my clients IRL at the gym I work at. Dynamics Fitness.
You might think- "In person? Didn't Covid kill personal training? There are so many apps and companies that could easily replace you."
I thought that before too.
When Peloton exploded into popularity- I was scared.
Now I realize personal training will never die.
You see, my wife and I like to travel.
She's a travel planner and knows all the tips and tricks on getting really good deals on flights and stuff.
We've gone to some pretty awesome places!
Typically when we go we stay for a while- I don't want to do all that travel for a just a couple days of fun!!
BUT!
Every-time we travel I always feel bad.
My clients come to see me In Person.
If I'm not there- they can't see me.
If they can't see me- they don't workout.
Notice how I said "Don't workout" not "Can't workout".
Because they totally could workout.
- Some of my clients have memberships to other gyms.
- I provide workout routines to my clients who want them.
- I even try to set up some clients with my coworkers so they can see someone else in person.
But you know what I hear whenever I get back from a trip?
"Ryan welcome back! You can never be gone that long again."
Most of my clients don't workout if they don't come to see me.
And I am not judging them for that-!
This is why I feel bad whenever I travel because I know if I'm not there- They're probably missing workouts.
I am their accountability.
I wish it was my personality that keeps people coming back but that simply isn't the case.
It's the accountability they have from my presence.
Accountability is why personal training will never die.
It is very powerful.
And is oftentimes the difference between getting results or not.
Without me a lot of my clients aren't getting results. But it's not me. It's the accountability I provide. Eventually my clients would probably find another source of accountability.
Because without it- the stuff they need to do to get results might not get done.
