Inside The Gym:
1. Training Frequency: How often we workout.
2. Exercise Execution: How we perform exercises- Both Technique and Intensity
3. Exercise Selection: The exercises we perform.
Obviously if we only workout once nothing is going to happen. Even if that workout is the most perfectly designed and executed workout of all time!
Likewise, if that perfectly designed workout is done with poor technique or low intensity nothing will happen.
Or perhaps the frequency is perfect, the technique and intensity are on point, but the exercises we perform are Burpees and Mountain Climbers...
Not very useful if our goal is to get the biggest Biceps in town. 💪🏼
Outside The Gym:
1. Eating Enough: The amount of calories necessary for our goal.
2. Eating Right: The right Macronutrients and Micronutrients for our goal.
3. Recovery: Getting enough movement and sleep to repair from what we do in the gym
If we have any type of Physique goal there is a specific amount of calories that we would need to eat to align with that goal.
Note: This is different for literally everyone. (Even if the goal is the same)
Calories are only one part of the equation. If we get the perfect amount of calories for our goal but those calories come from mashed potatoes- We won't get the protein we need AND we'll probably not feel the best as we would be missing quite a few Micronutrients.
And even if our nutrition is totally perfect- Poor Sleep and Stagnation (not moving much) would keep our body from properly recovering and making gains!
I hope you can see how these 6 factors come together to form the 2 pillars that hold up our results.
BUT!
What the heck do we do with this information?
Well- define your goal and work backwards.
Reverse engineer what it would take to have your goal.
How many times would I have to workout per week?
How hard would training have to be?
What exercises would align with my goal?
Does my goal require a Calories Surplus, Maintenance, or Deficit?
What should the Macro breakdown be and how can I get Micronutrients AND Macros?
Am I sleeping or moving enough to recover from my training?
Now I can answer some of these questions for you.
- Most people need to workout 2-4 times per week.
- Most people can see great results eating at Calorie Maintenance (or a small deficit)
But there's still a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of customization to fit you and your needs.
That is what The Missing Factor Quiz is for!
It's a simple questionnaire that helps you figure out where to start and how to start one step at a time!
