Could this be the next Ring?
Venture capitalists know how difficult it is to spot early investment opportunities - just ask the Sharks from Shark Tank. They passed on Ring at just $700,000, only to watch it sell to Amazon for $1.2B - a 1700x return missed.
Now, there's a new smart home start-up following the same blueprint: meet RYSE.
The founder pitched on Canada's Shark Tank, secured two offers, and now their patented smart shades are sold in 127 Best Buy stores, Amazon and Walmart - with Home Depot launching in 2025.
Ring used retail expansion to dominate smart security. RYSE is using the same playbook to disrupt the smart shade market inside the 158B smart home industry.

| 🩺 Apple is working on an AI Doctor LINK
|
- Apple is developing an AI-powered doctor under Project Mulberry, which could be released as early as spring or summer 2026 with iOS 19.4, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
- The revamped Health app, unofficially called Health+, will collect data from Apple devices and provide healthcare recommendations, with features including food tracking and workout technique analysis.
- A team of in-house physicians led by Dr. Sumbul Desai is creating the platform, which aligns with CEO Tim Cook's vision that health initiatives will be Apple's "greatest contribution to mankind."
| 🤖 Amazon unveils Nova Act, an AI agent that can control a web browser LINK
|
- Amazon has unveiled Nova Act, a general-purpose AI agent that can control web browsers to perform simple actions, alongside a developer toolkit for building agent prototypes and powering upcoming Alexa+ features.
- Designed by Amazon's San Francisco-based AGI lab, Nova Act aims to compete with similar technologies from OpenAI and Anthropic by automating tasks like ordering food or making reservations through web navigation capabilities.
- According to Amazon's internal testing, Nova Act outperforms rival agents on certain benchmarks, scoring 94% on ScreenSpot Web Text compared to OpenAI's 88% and Claude's 90%, though it hasn't been evaluated using more common industry assessments.
| 📱 Trump says TikTok deal will come before April 5 deadline LINK
|
- Former President Trump announced that a deal for TikTok will be reached before the April 5 deadline he set in January, which would require a non-Chinese buyer or result in a US ban.
- Trump expressed optimism about TikTok's future, mentioning there is "tremendous interest" from potential buyers and stating his desire to see the platform continue operating.
- Private equity firm Blackstone is reportedly considering a minority investment in TikTok's US operations, potentially joining existing non-Chinese ByteDance shareholders who are leading the bid.
| 🛰️ Apple's satellite plans could be stalled by SpaceX LINK
|
- Apple's satellite communication expansion for iPhones is facing opposition from Elon Musk's SpaceX, which has urged federal regulators to impede Apple's efforts as it competes directly with Starlink.
- SpaceX's resistance stems primarily from concerns about spectrum rights, which are limited resources used for satellite-to-Earth communications and valuable to operators seeking to secure bandwidth for their services.
- Despite the tension, some collaboration exists between the companies, as Globalstar has hired SpaceX to launch Apple-funded satellites, though previous discussions about connecting iPhones to SpaceX satellites haven't resulted in agreements.
| 🧪 Google's AI drug business secures $600M funding LINK
|
- Isomorphic Labs, a company using artificial intelligence to develop new treatments, has raised $600 million in funding led by Thrive Capital, with additional investments from GV and Alphabet.
- The company builds on technology like AlphaFold, which can predict protein structures and has the potential to dramatically reduce drug development time, earning its founders part of last year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
- Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Isomorphic and DeepMind, aims to eventually conduct most drug discovery processes via computers rather than traditional labs, with the ambitious mission of using AI to "solve all disease."
