A split yoke allows the shirt to fit and sit better. This is why Pink makes the extra effort to split the yoke-the crucial pattern piece that sits across the back of the shoulders-as a standard of our construction.
We cut the yoke's cotton on the diagonal, allowing a slight stretch to perfectly accommodate the shoulder. It is a tradition of English shirtmaking that Pink is proud to continue.
The beauty of the split yoke is most visible on a striped or patterned shirt. Crucially, the pattern has to match perfectly not only across the yoke itself, but exactly where the yoke meets the sleeves.
