Dear Three Nails Family,
Today is a harder day for me.
You see, my Dad unexpectedly passed away the day before Thanksgiving (November 25th, 2020). I have amazing memories of waking up on Thanksgiving morning as a kid to the delicious smells of my Dad cooking in the kitchen. He would work all day cooking the turkey, sausage stuffing, wild rice, and his famous creamy mashed potatoes with gravy. Man, it was heavenly...
But what I admired most was his love for others. He would always go out of his way to invite family members and some of my friends who didn't have families that celebrated Thanksgiving. He wanted to include as many people as we could fit in our home.
We would all hold hands as He lead us in prayer over our dinner and gave thanks to God. I will never forget how he led our family as the spiritual leader in our home.
I share this with you because we don't know when our last day will be on this earth. I didn't know Thanksgiving of 2019 would be my last Thanksgiving with my Dad before he went home to be with the Lord.
My prayer is that you would release anything hindering your peace today and give it to God. That you would be TRULY present with your loved ones and give thanks to God who deserves all of the honor and glory.
I pray that the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ would fill your homes and hearts today on this day of Thanksgiving.
