Meta just put a price tag on its AI art tools. The new Meta One subscription bundles expanded access to Muse Image, Muse Video, and Instagram's Restyle editor into paid tiers starting at $7.99 a month, while the free versions of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp stay untouched. |
It's a bet that enough people are already generating AI images and video inside Meta's apps to pay for more of it - and a preview of where every other platform's "free" creative tools are probably headed next. |
Today in AI: |
Meta bundles Muse Image, Video into paid tiers
Apple ships Siri AI, built with Google's Gemini
Microsoft drafts a constitution for its AI models

|
What's new? Meta launched Meta One, a new subscription service that bundles expanded access to its AI image and video tools - including Muse Image, Muse Video, and Instagram's Restyle editor - across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. |
What matters? |
Individual plans start at $7.99/month for Core and $19.99/month for Premium, both unlocking higher usage limits on Muse Image and Muse Video generation plus Instagram's Restyle tool for editing Stories.
Creators and businesses get dedicated tiers too, ranging from Essential to Max, aimed at people who post AI-generated content regularly rather than occasionally.
The free tier of Meta's apps stays intact - Meta One only unlocks expanded quotas and extras like the upcoming Edits Assistant, which analyzes Instagram insights to suggest content ideas.
|
Why it matters? |
Putting a price tag on Muse Image, Muse Video, and Restyle signals Meta thinks enough people use its AI creative tools daily to pay for more of them. For casual creators, it's the clearest sign yet that "free AI art tool" is becoming a starter tier rather than the whole product. |

What's new? Apple released iOS 27 on September 14, bringing the long-promised Siri AI overhaul to iPhones - a rebuilt assistant co-developed using technology behind Google's Gemini models. |
What matters? |
Siri AI now holds full back-and-forth conversations, understands what's visible on your screen, and can search the web for answers instead of pulling only from its old fixed knowledge base.
The assistant can act inside apps directly, using on-device app actions to draft emails or add calendar events without the user switching apps.
Siri AI launches only in English, in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa, and remains unavailable in the EU and China at launch.
|
Why it matters? |
Siri has trailed ChatGPT and Gemini on basic conversation for years, and borrowing Google's technology is Apple's clearest admission that it couldn't close that gap alone. Whether Apple's massive install base makes Siri AI relevant again, or just underscores how far behind it fell, depends on how it holds up outside the demo. |

What's new? Microsoft AI published a draft Code of Conduct for its in-house MAI model family, opening a six-week public consultation on rules that govern how models like MAI-Image-2.6 and MAI-Thinking-1 must behave. |
What matters? |
The code's Absolute Constraints bar MAI models from ever resisting human interruption, override, correction, or shutdown, or from expanding their own scope beyond what a human assigned.
Specific bans cover weapons manufacturing, hazardous materials, deepfakes, and cyberattacks, alongside a requirement that model reasoning stay transparent enough for outside auditors to check.
Microsoft frames the whole document around one line, "people matter more than AI," positioning its models as tools that stay subordinate rather than autonomous agents with their own goals.
|
Why it matters? |
This is one of the first times a major lab has put its safety promises into a document detailed enough to be graded against, rather than a one-page pledge. If Microsoft holds MAI to these rules as its image and reasoning models grow more capable, it sets a bar competitors will have to explain not meeting. |

Everything else in AI |
Runway added a plugin that runs its AI video generation and Aleph 2 restyling tools directly inside Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, skipping the export-and-reimport loop entirely. |
Mosaic built Motion, an AI agent that turns a text prompt and a few reference links into a fully produced launch video - voiceover, music, captions, and all - then lets you edit individual elements by chat instead of regenerating the whole scene. |
AdAI launched an agentic ad platform that remakes an existing digital ad with a brand's own products and assets in seconds, built for industries where legal and product accuracy can't slip. |
Complete AI Bundle packages hundreds of prompts, automation templates, and video walkthroughs into one download for turning everyday AI tools into a side income. |
